When I first acquired the land where the cairn now is, it was "raw" - no humans had lived there before - and the nature spirits were worried about what might happen if humans came there to stay. When it was explained to them that the place would become a sanctuary for all of us - for them, for the creatures and plants and trees that lived there, and for humans as well - they were still wary.
It would remain, I knew, a place of peace and harmony and healing and those qualities would even be inhanced. Obviously, there would be some disruption in creating a space for me, but no more than absolutely essential. Working around the trees and other plants as much as possible was and is a top priority, along with the health and happiness of the land and all of us who live or visit there. The fae waited to be convinced.
It is hardly surprising that they tested my intentions by leading me into creating the blessing cairn before anything else on the land. This is the story of the blessing cairn, what it offers you, and how these fae have learned to work and play with us.
